Miracle babies

Expectancy is the atmosphere for miracles. ~Edwin Louis Cole
When I think back to my pregnancy and how difficult it was, it makes me so thankful that I had faith that I would make it through. There were a few times the doctors told me they didn’t see the fetus! Ha….I said, the baby is In there! I expected my baby to make it full term and to be healthy! Almost 17 months later she is here happy, sassy, funny and healthy!!! Far more than what I expected!!! When I think about my cousin who went into labor early because the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby’s neck; she didn’t fret because she knew in her heart of hearts that her baby girl would pull through; she expected her baby to be okay! When I think about my other cousin and her journey with having her son extremely prematurely, being in and out the hospital; she never said he’s not going to make it! She kept fighting! She expected her her baby to be a survivor and to come home whole! In these three cases we expected our babies, to survive…to be healthy and strong! Not that it was easy, not that we didn’t have days that we had to be extremely persistent in our faith and pray constantly…we expected our babies, our now MIRACLES!!!! This message is for someone who is still expecting their baby! I wrote this for you… No names, hopefully you know who you are! Your baby is just getting it’s last touches from the angels to be delivered to your womb! Get ready!!

Miracle babies!!!

I was little burnt out from blogging and so may other jobs I have to do that I needed a little break to get things together! I love to blog…sharing so many things that I love is a great passion of mine! I have to do it where it is comfortable for me and where I can give my all to my visitors! I love you guys and want to be the best me I can be! I can only do that when my heart is in it! I will blog when I can… When it’s appropriate, when it makes sense and is useful and inspiring for you. Today I wanted to share pics from my last trip to Miami with the baby… It was fun and different from the 1st trip lol!!! Packing for a baby plus a woman who packs more than what is necessary is a reason for a vacation in itself!

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day to the love of my life, my king, my friend, my supporter, my husband! He has brought so much joy to me and our daughter’s life! I couldn’t imagine having picked anyone else to share the excitement of parenthood with. He is a true example of a man who loves, provides, and protects! I have been more than pleased with him. Thank you Bay! You mean the world to me.

Capture the moment

Hi there, hope your day is filled with productivity and peace! Today, I was looking over family photos; thinking about how many moments there are throughout the day, week, months and years that I probably haven’t captured. Thank God with technology now we can capture those special moments when we don’t have a regular camera on hand. I like to take pictures of the smallest things because I know I won’t ever get that moment back. I decided no matter how small the moment, if it’s a moment that touched my heart I am going to capture it.

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything. Aaron Siskind
A photograph can be an instant of life captured for eternity that will never cease looking back at you. Brigitte Bardot

One of my favorite moments! My baby’s first taste of spaghetti!!!

She Rises

To the women in my life who continues to rise regardless of what happens in her life. She is the sexiest, sassiest, strongest women I know. Her strength, faith and courage inspires me. She rises above it all. Today this post is for you mommy, smile, you are truly amazing!!!

Still I Rise
Maya Angelou, 1928
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

To all the women that rise above it all, I love you and continue to stand tall!!!

A mother’s existence

Good evening my playful S.D.C. buddies! Today, I wanted to share a few fashionable mommy and baby moments from over the weekend. I guess it’s true, daughter like mother. I have created a fashionista in training! So much of my personality comes from my mother, she trained me to the best to her ability and I believe she did an excellent job! Not tooting my own horn or anything!!! I just know spiritually, my mother is the reason I am who I am today. I laugh looking at some of the images in this post, because I see how a mother’s existence, training, persistence, spirit and love can alter a child’s mood, personality and traits. You have to try to be the best you there is. Your child mimics you; your moods, your actions and your spirit. Remember, they are an extension of you. As the bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6. Mommy, thank you for teaching me to fear the Lord and make him first, to treat others the way I would like to be treated, to be clean physically and spiritually, to love myself, how to be an exceptional mother and last but definitely not least to believe in my dreams as you do. I promise to pass down all these things to Auggie. First, she has to learn that, “fashion is very important, It is life-enhancing and like everything that gives pleasure, it is worth doing well” Vivienne Weswood!!!

My little ball of energy, being a girl with her pearls!!!

The wind beneath my wings

photo-9

Today my post is dedicated to my mother. She is, and always will be my hero. Never walking in front of me, unless she is leading. Never judging my wrong doings, only correcting them. Never doubting my dreams, only believing in them. Never getting tired of me, only awaking to my needs. Never lying to me, always truthful. Never stabbing me in the back, always healing my wounds. Never neglecting me, always there for. Never selfish, always sharing. Lastly, never dying when I thought she would. She kept living, striving and surviving, like The Little Engine that could. She is, and always will be my hero.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY BESTIE…

My life changer

Having a baby is a life-changer. It gives you a whole other perspective on why you wake up every day.
~Taylor Hanson

When I decided on getting pregnant I knew that it would change my life completely! I remember feeling a void, like something was missing. I didn’t know exactly what that was until I had my daughter. I remember my mother telling me,At least have one, you’ll never know how I feel about you until you experience it for yourself.” When my daughter was brought into the world I remember saying it was all worth it. For those of you who didn’t know, I suffered during my pregnancy with terrible fibroids; I was on bed rest for almost 5 months. There were days when I thought I would lose the baby or even my life, (that’s just how much pain I was in). Today I thank my Heavenly father first! My beautiful, best friend, my mother; my lovely, confidant, cousin/sister Kena; and my righteous, prayerful, grandmother. I’m thanking them because the prayers they prayed, I KNOW spiritually brought me through. I look at my little princess today with tears in my eyes and ask her the question, “Where have you been all my life?”

My baby girl is getting so big!

Daughter’s inspire you to teach them to be better than what you were!

The joy my mother brings me is doubled now with the joy of my daughter!

You’ll never know what a mother feels for her child until you experience motherhood!
