Wealth and Royalty

Happy Friday my prosperous peeps! Today I’m feeling a little rich In the spirit! Often we look at things in monetary value, when simply sometimes it’s not about how much we have it’s about how much faith we have! The color purple represents wealth and royalty I envisioned myself stepping through the gates of heaven draped in purple meeting our Heavenly Father! I did a little quad of things that I thought would look good on me in the color that I feel suits my vision today. When you dress, dress to impress! Wear things that improve you and your thinking! How we present ourselves make up a lot of our own and other peoples thoughts on us! We should attempt to dress our best even when we aren’t feeling so. Here’s my purple fashion for what I call faith Friday!!

Ciara?

So, as you all know I love to blog about anything that’s capturing my attention! So today, I came across Ciara’s new hairdo! It’s actually cute on her, considering she is Future’s fiancé…now they match. I just think that she might get bored with it after a while. Well to each it’s own, sometimes people get bored. I know I do! She wears them well!

Crystals Galore

Hey peeps! Happy Thursday! When I was in Miami I was intrigued by some of the beautifully made garments in this one boutique! Unfortunately, I was so fascinated by the perfectly embellished clothing I forgot the name! I remember exactly where it was, so when I go back I will get the name and share it with you. Anyone that knows me, knows I looooooove sparkle! So these pieces had Christian written all over them! The thing is, I like Miami because of the flamboyancy it carries! I think I’m a flamboyant kind of a girl, therefore I felt like I was right at home… The dresses were to die for, btw if I die make sure they bury me in the black dress below! The dress was $6,000, I didn’t try it on because I knew I would fall instantly in love. Check out the Robin’s, I was like a kid in a candy store!! Well, here’s a few pics of the pieces I call crystals galore!

A little 70’s

Happy Monday friends! Today I just wanted to share a picture of an outfit that I wore last night out to eat with the hubby that reminded me of the 70’s…completly out of the norm. It’s nice to change it up sometimes. The 70’s had some real cool looks. Bell bottoms being one of my favorites! This summer, I will try to find more pieces inspired by the 70’s, and you know I will share those pieces and pics with you. Until then here’s a picture of my 70’s look!

OMG, No you didn’t RiRi!!!

Hello there!!! I hope your day is filled with peace, love and joy! So…today I am so excited to share RiRi’s CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers in America) award ensemble!!! Where of course she won the style icon award! She is getting flack and great feedback from this revealing, daring and I don’t give a care look. Personally, I loooove it! Is it raunchy?! It depends on your views…beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The body is an form of art. If you enjoy art you might enjoy this! The dress she wore was channeled after the beautiful Josephine Baker. I know, I know, I just did a post on Rhianna channeling Princess Di, but isn’t it such a coincidence that just a few days later, here she is channeling another beauty from the past. Some call It copying…well, I think if you add your twist and don’t over do it, it’s inspiration. Now…RiRi is really doing some extreme taking and converting! She does it so well though!!! We all get inspiration from somewhere, if she admires them enough to take a risk and add her twist, I commend her. The designer of the vivacious dress is Adam Selman.

Iconic fashion Pair

Image

picture taken from Sunday Times Magazine

Happy Thursday beautiful people! I had the urge to do a post on my favorite fashion icons! I have a few but after sorting through my favorites I came across something extremely coincidental and fun. Two of my top fave fashion icons are Rihanna and Princess Diana. Up until yesterday I didn’t notice how many similarities in style the two have. Rihanna even said in Glamour magazine that, “…you know who is the best who ever did it? Princess Diana. She was like-she killed it. Every look was right. She was a gangsta with her clothes. She had these crazy hats. She got oversize jackets. I loved everything she wore,” according to Huffpost.com. I absolutely love the two, and it makes it even more dynamic that the duo are from two different eras, two different cultures yet have so many style similarities. Certain pieces will never go out of style, let Ri RI and Princess Di show you how’s it’s done!!!

12 step makeover tee

Good evening cutie pies!!! Today, I was inspired by the lovely weather to make over this neon pink shirt that I bought just for the color!!! So, here’s a 12 step tutorial step by step on how to spruce up a drab tee.
Before…

Image

 Step 1

Cut the sleeves off each side.

Image

Image

Saving 1 of the cut off sleeves, (you will see why later in the project).

Image

Step 2

Starting from the bottom of the sleeve, measure across a inch and pin down to the end of the shirt.

Image

Step 3

Sew down.

Image

Image

Step 4

Cut the access fabric off…it’s your choice if you want to serge or zig-zag stitch the sides. I chose to use pinking sheers, much quicker for the project!

Image

Step 5

Fold the shirt in half down the back.

Image

 Step 6

Cut about a 5-6 inch slits across the back, you are going to do this 7 times they should be around 2.5 inches apart.

Image

Image

(The picture shows 6 slits add one more…)

Image

It should look like this…

Image

 Step 7

Pin two of the slit sections together in the middle. You should have a total of three.

Image

 Step 8

Here is where you are going to use the saved sleeve. Cut three stripes.

Image

 Step 9

Take the stripes and place under the pinned slits. Fold over and sew.

Image

Image

Image

 Step 10

Cut the excess fabric off. Turn over the sewn fabric, so you can’t see the sewn edges.

Image

Your shirt should look like this.

Image

 Step 11

Cut the collar off your shirt.

Image

 Step 12

This is optional, cut a few slits in the front of your shirt.

SLITSHOT

Finally, your 12 step makeover tee is finished…I scrunched the sleeves on the second pic to show a little versatility.
