Miracle babies

Expectancy is the atmosphere for miracles. ~Edwin Louis Cole
When I think back to my pregnancy and how difficult it was, it makes me so thankful that I had faith that I would make it through. There were a few times the doctors told me they didn’t see the fetus! Ha….I said, the baby is In there! I expected my baby to make it full term and to be healthy! Almost 17 months later she is here happy, sassy, funny and healthy!!! Far more than what I expected!!! When I think about my cousin who went into labor early because the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby’s neck; she didn’t fret because she knew in her heart of hearts that her baby girl would pull through; she expected her baby to be okay! When I think about my other cousin and her journey with having her son extremely prematurely, being in and out the hospital; she never said he’s not going to make it! She kept fighting! She expected her her baby to be a survivor and to come home whole! In these three cases we expected our babies, to survive…to be healthy and strong! Not that it was easy, not that we didn’t have days that we had to be extremely persistent in our faith and pray constantly…we expected our babies, our now MIRACLES!!!! This message is for someone who is still expecting their baby! I wrote this for you… No names, hopefully you know who you are! Your baby is just getting it’s last touches from the angels to be delivered to your womb! Get ready!!

Miracle babies!!!

I’m back!

So after coming back from my second trip to Miami, I’ve decided to blog at a pace that I can handle! I was little burnt out from blogging and so may other jobs I have to do that I needed a little break to get things together! I love to blog…sharing so many things that I love is a great passion of mine! I have to do it where it is comfortable for me and where I can give my all to my visitors! I love you guys and want to be the best me I can be! I can only do that when my heart is in it! I will blog when I can… When it’s appropriate, when it makes sense and is useful and inspiring for you. Today I wanted to share pics from my last trip to Miami with the baby… It was fun and different from the 1st trip lol!!! Packing for a baby plus a woman who packs more than what is necessary is a reason for a vacation in itself!

Zarbee’s cough medicine

20140708-221429-80069041.jpg
Picture from http://www.zarbees.com
Hey my loves! As I said yesterday a lot has been going on! My baby has a bit of a cough and honestly I wasn’t sure what product would knock that heart wrenching cough out the way! Her cough seems to get worse at night; so I tried Zarbee’s Natural cough syrup! If you have little ones and have had this problem (as I’m sure all mommy’s have) this is the product for you! I give it a A+ in helping baby rest the remainder of the night, and a A+ in helping mommy’s heart! It helped my little August immediately! You have to remember to give it to your baby every 4 hours until the cough lightens up… If not, after the 4 hours, the cough might return. This is on my favorite products list!!! Try it if this ever happens to your little one!

Capture the moment

Hi there, hope your day is filled with productivity and peace! Today, I was looking over family photos; thinking about how many moments there are throughout the day, week, months and years that I probably haven’t captured. Thank God with technology now we can capture those special moments when we don’t have a regular camera on hand. I like to take pictures of the smallest things because I know I won’t ever get that moment back. I decided no matter how small the moment, if it’s a moment that touched my heart I am going to capture it.

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything. Aaron Siskind
A photograph can be an instant of life captured for eternity that will never cease looking back at you. Brigitte Bardot

One of my favorite moments! My baby’s first taste of spaghetti!!!

Robby’s home!

This is such a wonderful day, I am so excited to announce the arrival of my cousin’s baby Robert coming home. For those of you who don’t know, Robby was premature and was in the hospital since December; making that a total of six months! Yes, six months… Yesterday Robby was released to go home and be with his beautiful mommy and daddy. Jackie, (Robby’s mom) has been an absolute solider through out this journey. I couldn’t imagine having to face some of the challenges that her and Lorenzo (Robby’s dad) had to face. I commend her as a mom, she was strong, she had faith, courage, and distributed all the love a mommy could give to bring her beautiful baby home. You are an absolute Super-Mom Jackie, may you inspire other mothers out there like you. I am proud of you, your persistence, consistency, and drive is unfathomable. To never give up, and to keep going even when the going got tough, you are an ultimate mommy!!!

Here’s to you mommy!

“There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one.” Jill Churchill

“When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.” Sophia Loren

CONGRATULATIONS JACKIE & LORENZO!

Here’s their beautiful baby boy!

Tiffany & Co. baby basket

It’s Monday, the start of a fresh week! Let’s be productive, prayerful and positive in all we do! Today, I wanted to share a baby basket that I did over the weekend for a friend of my husband and I. The theme of the baby shower was Tiffany & Co. I had no other choice but to try and do something Tiffany inspired! I chose to do a basket filled with baby essentials that I knew the mommy will need.

Image

A basket filled with goodies is such a great gift. You can personalize a basket in any way you wish! That’s what makes gift baskets so fun. I stuffed the basket with white tissue paper, added the baby essentials and wrapped the basket with Tiffany blue fabric/tuelle then wrapped it with lovely white ribbon.

Here’s the finished product!

The best condoms ever

condoms

picture taken from http://www.meijer.com

Happy lovely Thursday!!! Today I wanted to share my experience with lambskin condoms. Since having my daughter I’ve been a condom user, wait a second now… I’m getting back on the ultimate baby stopper, the PILL this weekend! Before I do, I had to tell my loves the scoop on these amazing baby barriers. Honestly, I have never enjoyed condoms, they bother me; the next morning I feel awful because I’m sore and irritated. I just recently realized I might have a latex allergy. About two days ago, my husband brought in the lambskin condoms. Not getting too personal, but hey, that’s what my S.D.C. friends are for!! To share my best and worst experiences with!!! So, let’s get to the good stuff! We tried the condoms…and bada-bing, bada-boom! Just as the reviews state, most people say they’re great, and they are! You know the trojan commercials, where the couples hair is all over their heads, and the music plays and their under the covers looking revitalized? That was us!! The condoms are awesome!! I had to ask my husband twice…are you sure that you had one on!!!? I advise the individuals that don’t use birth-control to use this if you’re trying to prevent pregnancy! I will give you a few facts on the lambskins he was in!!!

  • Lambskin condoms do not prevent the transmission of STDs!
  • Lambskin condoms are a prevention for pregnancy!
  • Lambskin condoms are made from a thin layer of sheep cecum, a part of the intestine.
  • Lambskin condoms are more expensive than latex condoms (believe me they are well worth it)!
  • Lambskin condoms deliver body heat in a way that latex condoms don’t!
  • Lambskin condoms are an amazing alternative for individuals with latex allergies!
  • Lambskin condoms unlike latex condoms, can be used with oil-based lubricants!
  • Lambskin condoms feel extremely natural!

“Lambskin condoms are good for preventing pregnancy. Because the lambskin material has tiny pores–though they are not large enough to allow the passage of sperm–it is not as effective as latex for prevention of viral STDs, like HIV and herpes. They should not be used as protection against these diseases. For pregnancy prevention, they are about equally as effective as latex and other condom materials,” according to lambskincondoms.org!

My experience with these baby stoppers were beyond great! If your not shy, let me know if you and your spouse try these!

Memory Box

Happy Sunday my loves! Today I wanted to share a memory box I did to store some of my daughter’s keepsakes. I decided to this when I noticed I was starting a little collection of things that I felt were extremely precious to me. I didn’t do a step by step tutorial because I really feel with something as personalized as this, the sky is the limit you can use so many things to create a memory box! I’ll show you some of the supplies I used to help you get started if want to create your own.

What you’ll need to get started!!!

Image

Blank cardboard box

Pictures

Scrapbook pieces

Mod Podge

Sponge or paint brush

Glue gun

Keepsake items

Of course there are a few more keepsake items I am going to use, but this picture is to give you an idea of some items that I placed in the box.

I will fill out the card later, I wanted to leave it blank so you could see how creative you could get with your box, something as personal as this adds such a cute touch to something so special.

Image

I added pink lace trim because we all know that anything that’s pink with lace is all girl!!

Image

I only used pictures from the hospital and her first day home….I am mainly using this box for hospital keepsakes and special newborn things that I have an emotional attachment to!

Image

I saved one of my daughter’s birth announcements and this added an additional momentous touch.

I through a sonogram picture in, her first picture ever!!!

Here’s a few of the things that I hold dear to my heart and could never let go!!!

I really hope you attempt to make your own memory box for those special things that you treasure!!! When and if you do please share them with me!!! I would love to see what you beautiful crafters put together.
